lyrics

I found that the only way out of this town is down the end of a bottle of whiskey and I found that it hurts (it hurts)

I skulk at the centre of dismal surroundings
A labyrinth of concrete and sewage and shit and it hurts (it hurts)

But we all have our crosses, especially if you're Jesus or just someone who's obsessed with crucifixions and I found that it hurts (it hurts)

But my student finance England's money just came through
Hypothetically I could afford a prostitute

And time will make my children orphans
Bulldozers will dig their graves
CBBC will make them clever
CCTV will keep them safe

What can I say for a metaphor free radio
It doesn't confuse me in fact on the contrary it works (it works)
Only tonsilitis can stop me now but I took some antibiotics and I found that it works (it works)

I had hopes for someone who is almost entirely irrelevant now
And when it all went to shit I'd have pornos and lager, pieces of dead cow

I've still got some friends left who have yet to leave me
I've still got some family who've yet to bereave me
I'm young and I'm healthy with 20-20 vision
My parents are atheists so I got to skip circumcision

And time will make my children orphans
Bulldozers will dig their graves
CBBC will make them kinder
CCTV will make them brave

Time will make my children orphans
Bulldozers will dig their graves
BBC will make them wise
CCTV will make them brave

about

Clara Pandy Sheffield, UK

Clara Pandy originally started as an acoustic duo in January 2013, after Laura and Dom both met studying music at the University of Sheffield. Both do vocals, guitar and glockenspiel in the band. In 2014, we decided to extend to a five piece band and were joined by funk drummer, George Bratley, bassist Fitz and Cindy. Our lyrics range from personal themes to tongue in cheek humour. ... more
